We propose to carry out a Halpha emitters imaging survey on the galaxy
cluster at z=0.813 using the NB filter at 1.19micron manufactured by
C.Tokoku et al. and already installed in the MOIRCS.
Halpha emissions from cluster members come perfectly onto this NB
filter and therefore it provides a unique opportunity for us to map
out star formation in this distant cluster in an unbiased way over
a large area (36 arcmin2). This is critical step towards understanding
the role of environment and how the star formation is truncated during
galaxy assembly to clusters.
With 2 hours integration on NB119 and 0.5 hours on J (for continua)
we can reach a star formation rate of 1 Msun/yr, which is required to
study truncation in star formation.

We already have deep Suprime-Cam imaging (VRi'z') and identified
prominent structures in and around the cluster based on the photometric
redshifts. The proposed two MOIRCS pointings will cover most of the
structure.
Moreover, this cluster was intensively observed by AKARI (432 hours)
at 3-15 micron over a 160 arcmin2 field. Therefore Halpha star
formation rates obtained by this proposed MOIRCS observation can be
compared with the dusty star formation rates probed by PAH features.

The proposed observation is therefore very unique in many aspects
and will make a great contribution to the study of star formation
activity in high density environment.
